Paimio Sanatorium is an iconic modernist building in Finland, designed as a place where architecture, light and nature work together to support wellbeing.

Designed by Alvar and Aino Aalto, the building reflects a holistic approach to architecture, where every detail — from the spatial layout and furniture to colour and natural light — was carefully considered in relation to the human experience.

The project remains a powerful example of how architecture can shape atmosphere and emotion, combining functional design with a deep sensitivity to materiality, light and the surrounding landscape.
