Living Places · Copenhagen, Denmark

Living Places Copenhagen is an experimental housing project developed by VELUX in collaboration with EFFEKT Architects and Artelia. The project explores how homes can be designed with a significantly lower carbon footprint while maintaining a healthy indoor climate and high architectural quality.

Located in Jernbanebyen in Copenhagen, the installation consists of seven full-scale prototypes, including pavilions and residential units that demonstrate new principles for sustainable housing. The project shows that homes can be built with a CO₂ footprint far below current building standards using existing materials and technologies.

The prototypes focus on daylight, fresh air, natural materials and strong connections between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a healthy living environment while demonstrating scalable solutions for the future of housing.
