Cirkusbygningen is one of Copenhagen’s most iconic historic landmarks. Originally completed in 1886, the listed building has recently undergone a comprehensive restoration and interior transformation by Lundgaard & Tranberg Arkitekter.
The project carefully preserves the building’s architectural heritage while introducing contemporary functionality. The restored interiors reintroduce Verner Panton’s original colour concept alongside carefully conserved historic details, creating a dialogue between heritage and modern use.
This architectural photography documents the restored architecture, interior spaces and craftsmanship, capturing the relationship between history, materiality and contemporary architectural intervention.
